Collibra Platform Engineer

Name, Title, Email, Phone Overview: The Collibra Platform Engineer will operate, administer, maintain, and enhance the Collibra Data Intelligence Platform in support of the agency's Enterprise Data Governance Program Office. The platform runs on a FedRAMP-authorized GovCloud Software as a Service deployment across development, test, and production environments, and supports approximately 250 data stewards and sponsors, 150 monthly users, 445 data assets, 17 communities, and 109 business terms against an ingestion footprint of 4,000 schemas, one million tables and views, and 10.6 million columns. This position spans the full technical stack of the implementation. On the platform side, it administers the data catalog, business glossary, assessments, reference data, stewardship, policy manager, usage analytics, and workflow designer capabilities, maintains and modernizes 27 Collibra workflows across 60 BPMN files, and carries the remaining migration from Collibra Jobserver to Collibra Edge architecture through to completion, stabilization, and documentation. On the engineering side, it maintains five Java-based microservices and retrofits them to Linux, supports eight out-of-the-box integrations and twelve custom integrations, maintains components on Linux and Windows virtual machines, manages the certificates, secrets, and service account credentials those integrations depend on, and carries source control, release artifacts, and Agile work item tracking in Azure DevOps. Key Responsibilities: - Administer Collibra communities, domains, asset types, relation types, attributes, statuses, responsibilities, roles, groups, and permissions, and manage approved administrative configuration changes - Configure and maintain development, test, and production environments, support configuration consistency across them, and support promotion of approved changes from development to test to production - Support user onboarding, modification, and removal, and conduct periodic user access and privilege reviews - Monitor platform configuration, user activity, workflow execution, metadata ingestion, and operational health indicators - Acknowledge assignment of production issues, including outages and service degradations, within four business hours, and routine support requests within one business day - Complete, stabilize, and document the transition from Jobserver-based metadata harvesting to Linux-based Collibra Edge architecture - Troubleshoot metadata harvester, Edge site, connector, synchronization, credential, scheduling, and lineage issues - Maintain and modernize existing Collibra workflows, migrate legacy Eclipse IDE workflows to Collibra Workflow Designer as approved, and develop new workflows subject to prioritization - Maintain data catalog content, business glossary functionality, and the relationships between business terms, data assets, reports, policies, reference data, and stewardship processes - Support scheduled ingestion runs and manual interim ingestion runs, and validate harvesting results for completeness, accuracy, and timeliness - Maintain and support the five existing Java-based microservices, and review and retrofit them to run on Linux-based infrastructure as approved - Support the transition from Windows-based hosting to Linux-based hosting, and support retirement of Windows-based dependencies when approved - Troubleshoot integration failures, synchronization issues, API errors, authentication and authorization issues, data mapping issues, and workflow handoff issues - Install, configure, maintain, and patch Java, JDK, JRE, connectors, agents, certificates, scripts, application dependencies, and other non-operating-system components on Linux and Windows virtual machines - Manage certificates, secrets, and service account credential rotations for contractor-supported components, and support vulnerability remediation - Support Collibra SaaS release readiness, release note review, regression analysis, post-release validation, and connectivity and smoke testing - Provide tier-one technical support for Collibra-related issues, incidents, and service requests, and open and drive vendor support tickets to resolution - Maintain source code, configuration artifacts, release documentation, integration architecture documentation, administrative standard operating procedures, runbooks, and component inventories in Azure DevOps or another approved repository - Participate in transition-in and knowledge transfer, monthly sprint planning, monthly production releases including after-hours deployment support, and transition-out Required Qualifications: - Current Collibra Solution Architect certification or current Collibra Ranger certification, verifiable on Credly. This requirement has no substitute and the certificate must be provided - Minimum of one year of hands-on Collibra experience - Experience administering and configuring Collibra in multi-environment implementations - Experience implementing and modifying Collibra operating models - Experience supporting workflows built using Collibra Workflow Designer and Collibra Workflow Manager for Eclipse - Experience with Collibra Edge, including metadata harvesting and lineage configuration - Experience with Collibra Jobserver, including metadata harvesting - Experience developing, maintaining, or supporting JDK-based microservices - Experience with REST APIs, logging, exception handling, coding, and integration testing - Experience maintaining software components on Linux servers - Experience maintaining software components on Windows servers - Experience managing certificates, secrets, service account credentials, and related integration dependencies - Experience using platforms for source code management and tracking Agile work items under epics, stories, and tasks - United States citizenship Preferred Qualifications: - A completed Jobserver to Edge migration at schema scale, including stabilization and documentation - BPMN workflow development and migration of legacy Eclipse IDE workflows into Collibra Workflow Designer - Collibra experience in a FedRAMP-authorized GovCloud Software as a Service deployment - Metadata source integration across Alteryx Server, Amazon RDS, Microsoft SharePoint Online, Microsoft SQL Server, network share drives, PostgreSQL, SAP BusinessObjects, ServiceNow, Splunk Enterprise, and Tableau Server - Snowflake and Microsoft Power BI integration into a data catalog - Lineage configuration for SQL Server, Amazon RDS, Tableau Server, and SSIS package ingestion - Experience retrofitting Java microservices from Windows-based hosting to Linux-based infrastructure - Custom bi-directional integration development covering architecture, data flows, APIs, service accounts, error handling, and security controls - Azure DevOps specifically, including repositories, branching practices, backlog, work item structure, release documentation, and deployment procedures - ServiceNow incident and service request handling, and vendor support ticket management - Federal experience, particularly with a financial regulatory agency, and an active Public Trust clearance - Agile Scrum delivery on one-month sprints Education & Certifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Data Management, or a related field - Collibra Solution Architect certification or Collibra Ranger certification is required and must be provided - Additional Collibra certifications, data governance certifications such as CDMP, and Java, Linux, or cloud platform certifications are preferred Work Authorization: Must be a United States citizen.
