Senior Full Stack Engineer

Our client is transforming the car rental industry through an asset-light, data-driven platform that helps local businesses turn vehicles into new revenue streams. With 200,000+ customers, 5,000+ vehicles, 500+ rental locations and 1,500+ partners across 6 countries, they're scaling the technology behind a growing international mobility platform. Role Overview You'll join as a Senior Full-Stack Engineer with a backend focus, building Python services and APIs while contributing to React and TypeScript across features that support an international mobility platform. Key Responsibilities Build and evolve backend services that power customer-facing products, mobile applications and partner integrations.Develop reliable REST APIs using Python and modern backend frameworks.Take ownership of features across the stack, from databases and backend services through to the frontend.Lead technical improvements including refactoring, rearchitecture and platform modernisation.Work with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL to maintain reliable data flows and support application functionality.Extend and maintain React and TypeScript applications when features require changes beyond the backend.Improve backend performance, reliability and data correctness across the platform.Build solutions that work effectively across multiple markets, currencies and languages.Collaborate closely with product, design and engineering teams on technical decisions and product development.Contribute to the evolution of the technology stack as the platform expands internationally. Qualifications 5+ years of full-stack development experience, with a strong focus on backend engineering.Strong experience with Python and backend frameworks such as FastAPI, Django or Flask.Solid experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs.Strong knowledge of SQL databases, particularly PostgreSQL and/or MySQL.Professional experience working with React.js and TypeScript.Comfortable taking ownership of features across frontend and backend layers.Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP and Docker.Strong spoken and written English communication skills. Nice to have: Experience with rearchitecture projects, migrations or significant platform refactoring.Familiarity with Redis, message queues or event-driven systems.Experience with Next.js or other modern frontend frameworks.Background in automotive, mobility, logistics or marketplace technology.Interest in shaping technical direction and mentoring other engineers.Experience using AI development tools such as Copilot, Cursor or Claude as part of your engineering workflow.
