Principal Engineer

Position Summary Develop and design web applications and web sites. Responsible for directing web site content creation, enhancement, and maintenance. Technical skills include knowledge of computer hardware and software. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent training required.8–10 years of experience required. Responsibility Level Exercises independent judgment with minimal direction from supervisor. Required Skills Verbal and written communication skillsProblem-solving skillsCustomer service and interpersonal skillsStrong ability to work independently and manage one’s timeStrong leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedbackStrong knowledge of circuit boards, processors, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and softwareStrong knowledge of design techniques and principles involved in production of drawings and modelsStrong knowledge of computer software, such as Adobe, Java, SQL, etc. Major Job Duties and Responsibilities Supervise the design, build, or maintenance of web sites using authoring or scripting languages, content creation tools, management tools, and digital media.Supervise the writing, design, or editing of web page content.Direct web site updates.Review problems uncovered by testing or customer feedback and approve the correction of problems.Advise and direct management or development teams to prioritize needs, resolve conflicts, develop content criteria, or choose solutions.Direct development or validation of test routines and schedules to ensure that test cases mimic external interfaces.Maintain understanding of current web technologies or programming practices through continuing education.
