Job#: 3053715 Job Description: Client: Top Pharmaceutical Company Role: Senior BI Analyst/Developer Location: Toronto or Montreal is ideally but open to fully remote work option Contract Length: 6 months to start, possibility of extension Additional Travel or Expenses Required: None Shift/Hours: Monday to Friday – 9am-5pm Job Description: As our Senior Business Intelligence Analyst/developer, you will turn complex, enterprise-scale data into the insight that drives important decisions. You will design and build the semantic models, metrics, and dashboards the business relies on — and you will make sure they stay accurate, explainable, and fast as our data grows. Working across teams and directly with stakeholders, you translate technical analysis into recommendations leaders can act on, set the standard for how metrics are defined and governed. Your Toolkit You will work every day at the intersection of a modern data and analytics stack: Power BI — your primary canvas for semantic models, advanced DAX, and dashboards leaders actually use. SQL — the backbone of how you shape, query, and validate data. Snowflake — our cloud data platform, where enterprise-scale data lives. Databricks — where large-scale processing and advanced analytics come together. Design scalable data models and tune queries, reports, and dashboards so they stay performant as data volumes grow. Own semantic modeling, DAX, SQL, KPI definitions, and reporting design across the BI landscape. Apply statistical and mathematical analysis to validate assumptions, test trends, surface anomalies, and confirm business outcomes. Partner directly with stakeholders across departments to understand their data needs, identify trends, and deliver compelling visualizations and recommendations. Optimize data structures, calculations, and reporting solutions to balance accuracy, maintainability, and performance. Ensure metrics are credible, explainable, and consistently applied across the organization. Translate complex analytical concepts, methodologies, and trade-offs into clear, business-friendly recommendations. Drive reporting standards, metric governance, and user-experience improvements so dashboards support decisions — not simply present data. Stay current with emerging BI technologies and Canadian data-privacy regulations. Role Requirements/Experience: 5–8 years of progressive experience in business intelligence, analytics, or data analysis. A bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, business, or a related quantitative field. Expert Power BI skills: semantic / tabular modeling, advanced DAX, and dashboard design. Strong SQL, including complex queries and performance optimization. Hands-on experience with Snowflake and Databricks in enterprise-scale environments. A proven ability to design data models that perform at scale — star schemas, aggregations, and efficient calculations. A solid grounding in statistical and mathematical analysis. Excellent communication skills — you translate technical findings into clear business language. Experience defining and governing KPIs and setting reporting standards others follow. Preferred Qualifications/Experience: Relevant certifications (e.g., Power BI, SQL, or cloud data-platform credentials). Python or R for statistical analysis. Data governance and catalog tools (e.g., Alation). Experience with healthcare, pharmaceutical, or distribution data. Familiarity with Canadian data-privacy and regulatory requirements.
