Location: Washington, DC – Hybrid (4 days onsite / 1 day remote)

Position Overview:
• Our client is hiring a GCP Cloud Engineer to build and operate secure cloud infrastructure for a federal customer.
This hands-on role combines Google Cloud engineering, infrastructure automation, deployment pipelines, and operational support in a cleared environment.
Key responsibilities:
• Design, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable infrastructure in Google Cloud Platform.
• Build and manage infrastructure as code using Terraform, Deployment Manager, or similar tools.
• Develop and improve CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Cloud Build.
• Work with developers and security teams to automate deployments and strengthen cloud governance.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and support reliability and service-level commitments.
• Apply federal security and compliance practices, including FedRAMP and NIST standards.
• Document configurations, procedures, and automation for the broader team.
Required qualifications:
• Active Secret clearance.
• At least four years of cloud engineering experience, including two years in GCP environments.
• Hands-on experience with Compute Engine, Cloud Functions, VPC, IAM, GKE, and Big Query.
• Experience with infrastructure automation using Terraform, Ansible, or Deployment Manager.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Cloud Build.
• Strong Linux administration, networking, and Docker/Kubernetes skills.
• Experience working in an Agile or Scrum environment.
Preferred qualifications:
• Google Professional Cloud Architect or Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer certification.
• Federal program and Authority to Operate (ATO) experience.
• Experience with AWS or Azure.
• Scripting in Python, Bash, or Go.
Work requirements:
• This position is based in Washington, DC, with four onsite days and one telework day each week.
