Salary: $110,000 - $190,000 per year A bit about us: Our client, a well-established utility company, is seeking a Senior Substation Engineer to provide technical leadership for the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of electric utility substations. This position will support substation projects from initial planning and engineering through detailed design, construction, commissioning, and final turnover. The Senior Substation Engineer will work closely with Protection & Controls, Transmission, Distribution, Operations, Construction, contractors, and other engineering teams to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective substation projects. This is a permanent position that offers an attractive relocation package. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in our organization, working on a variety of projects, including designing, developing, and maintaining high voltage substations. Responsibilities: As a Senior Substation Engineer, you will be responsible for: 1. Designing, developing, and maintaining high voltage substations, including protection and control systems. 2. Preparing and reviewing engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards. 3. Performing system studies and coordinating with other engineering disciplines to ensure the overall system reliability and safety. 4. Developing SCADA system architecture and programming logic. 5. Reviewing and interpreting AC/DC schematics and wiring diagrams. 6. Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and technicians. 7. Coordinating with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful completion of projects. 8. Conducting site inspections and overseeing the installation, testing, and commissioning of substation equipment. 9. Identifying and resolving engineering issues to ensure the optimal performance of substations. 10. Keeping up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulations. Qualifications: To be considered for the Senior Substation Engineer position, you must have: 1. A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. 2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in substation engineering, including experience with high voltage substations. 3. Proficiency in SCADA systems, AC/DC schematics, and wiring diagrams. 4. Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, techniques, and standards. 5. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills. 6. Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities. 7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 8. The ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. 9.
