We are seeking a talented senior application developer to join a specialty development team. You will design and develop software and web applications using .NET and C#, contribute to modernizing our proprietary application portfolio, and support data integration initiatives including automated data ingestion processes. What You'll Do Application Development Design, develop, and maintain software and web applications using .NET framework and C#Write clean, well-documented code adhering to established standards and best practicesContribute to maintenance, bug fixes, and enhancements of in-house software productsParticipate in modernizing legacy applications to contemporary Microsoft technologiesParticipate in design reviews and code reviews, providing technical input and constructive feedback Technical Design & Planning Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to understand functional requirements and plan solutionsTranslate business requirements into technical designs and implementation strategiesEstimate work resources accurately and communicate timelines and dependenciesRead and translate technical specifications into reliable application logic Database Development Design and develop SQL Server databases, queries, and stored proceduresOptimize database performance and ensure data integrityCollaborate on data modeling and schema design Data Integration & Management (shared responsibilities) Support, maintain and enhance automated data ingestion processesWork with structured data formats (CSV, JSON, XML) and external file-based data feeds (FTP/SFTP)Implement data validation, transformation, and error-handling logicTroubleshoot production data issues and perform root cause analysisDocument data integration processes and maintain technical documentation Problem-Solving & Communication Analyze and identify functional and business shortcomings in existing softwareCommunicate technical issues, solutions, and recommendations to team members and stakeholdersCollaborate with cross-functional teams to identify solutions aligned with company needsEscalate technical challenges to your Development Manager when needed Continuous Learning Stay current with latest technologies, frameworks, and security best practicesMonitor security vulnerabilities and industry updates relevant to our technology stackIdentify opportunities to enhance application security, performance, and maintainabilityLeverage AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) to enhance productivityParticipate in team knowledge-sharing sessions What We're Looking For: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, OR equivalent professional experience3+ years of professional experience building applications using C# and .NET framework3+ years of professional experience with SQL Server database design, development, and optimizationStrong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and design patternsExperience with web application development using ASP.NET or ASP.NET CoreFamiliarity with Azure or other cloud-based technologiesUnderstanding of SDLC methodologies and best practicesExperience with version control systems (e.g., Git)Strong problem-solving and analytical skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively with team membersProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)Flexibility to work at least half of a scheduled shift to coincide with US business hours (Central time zone) Location Manila, Philippines The #TeamGBT Experience Work and life: Find your happy medium at Amex GBT.
