Software Engineer - Authentication

About the Opportunity: The SOFTWARE ENGINEER on the Authentication team is responsible for developing and maintaining cloud-native services that support authentication systems as they transition to cloud infrastructure. This role directly impacts the reliability, security, and scalability of critical identity verification services, contributing to the organization's ability to protect high-risk interactions. Responsibilities: Design, build, test, and maintain cloud services and workflows supporting authentication systems.Contribute to project development from design through operational support using Go and Python.Develop and operate services across AWS and GCP platforms, utilizing technologies like Kinesis, DynamoDB, and S3.Improve service reliability, scalability, performance, security, and maintainability.Participate in technical discussions evaluating tradeoffs involving reliability, latency, security, cost, and delivery timelines.Identify and address technical issues and operational risks.Collaborate with engineering, research, and product teams to deliver and improve system capabilities.Conduct code and design reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback.Investigate and resolve production issues, enhancing monitoring, alerting, and service quality.Use observability tools to troubleshoot and reduce recurring problems.Contribute to engineering best practices through documentation and knowledge sharing.Participate in on-call rotations supporting operational alerts. Requirements: 2-5 years of software engineering experience.Proficiency in Golang (Go).Experience with cloud computing environments, especially AWS or GCP.Familiarity with data structures, algorithms, and concurrency.Knowledge of data storage technologies such as Redis and MySQL.Understanding of Docker and container orchestration frameworks like Kubernetes.Experience with AWS managed services such as S3, ElastiCache, and DynamoDB preferred.Familiarity with Linux/Unix system internals.Proven ability to deliver stable and secure production code.Preferred experience building microservices and RESTful APIs.Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code tools.
