Role : Senior Staff Engineer Location: Fully Remote Duration: 1 Year, possible extension Role Summary 🧩 Key Responsibilities Technical LeadershipProvide technical direction on high-impact, cross-team infrastructure projects and contribute to the organization's multi-year cloud platform strategy.Platform EngineeringDesign, develop, test, deploy, and maintain a large-scale Kubernetes compute platform — including custom controllers and admission webhooks.Cloud InfrastructureDeliver enhancements that improve cost efficiency and scalability across multi-cloud IaaS environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).Mentorship & CoachingInfluence, mentor, and coach a distributed team of engineers, raising the technical bar across the organization.Cross-Team AlignmentFacilitate alignment across engineering teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines; manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.Developer ExperienceDrive improvements to developer experience for both infrastructure and product teams consuming the compute platform. 🛠️ Required Skills Technical Skills Programming: Go (Golang) — MUST HAVE; not negotiableContainer Orchestration: Advanced Kubernetes — including writing custom Kubernetes Controllers and Admission Webhooks (MUST HAVE)Cloud Platforms: AWS (EC2/IaaS), GCP, or Azure — 4+ years hands-on with at least one public cloud providerService Mesh: Istio and/or Envoy (preferred)Domains: Platform Engineering, DevOps, Distributed Systems, Cloud InfrastructureSoft Skills Ability to set and communicate technical direction across large, multi-team projectsStrong mentorship and coaching skills for distributed engineering teamsExcellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder alignmentStructured problem-solving in ambiguous, large-scale infrastructure environmentsThorough documentation and architectural decision-making practices 🎓 Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field (equivalent experience considered)12+ years of infrastructure engineering experience, with a focus on cloud-native and platform engineering4+ years of hands-on experience with at least one major public cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure)Strong preference for candidates with backgrounds at cloud-native or DevOps-focused companies (e.g., Datadog, Cloudflare, CoreWeave, DigitalOcean, Elastic, Dynatrace)
