Python Developer Location: Charlotte, NC Work Arrangement: Onsite/hybrid as required by team Duration: 12-18 month Contract Employment Type: Contract W2 ONLY Job Summary The Global Risk Analytics Technology team is seeking a Python Developer to join a team developing a core technology platform, similar to a mini-version of Quartz. The developer will be responsible for true end-to-end application development, building scalable platform components and contributing to the performance, stability, and maintainability of the core platform. Key Responsibilities Design and build horizontally scalable components within the core platform.Develop Python applications end to end from scratch.Write reusable, extensible, and maintainable code.Apply strong object-oriented programming principles and Python modules.Review code and provide feedback focused on best practices, performance, and stability.Become a subject matter expert on code deployed to the platform.Provide technical support and guidance to other developers.Build distributed and scalable services and robust microservices.Work with Spark and data stored within Hadoop and Hive environments.Write and maintain unit tests.Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automation.Identify opportunities to simplify software and improve maintainability.Continuously improve development practices, code quality, performance, and platform reliability.Required Qualifications 8–10+ years of software development experience.Expert-level Python development experience.Proven experience developing complete applications from scratch through deployment/run-time, rather than primarily scripting or integration work.Strong understanding of:Object-oriented programmingPython modulesApplication structure and executionFunctional programmingStrong knowledge of algorithms and data structures.Experience with relational, document, and NoSQL databases.Experience building distributed and scalable services.Experience developing robust microservices.Experience writing unit tests using pytest or unittest.Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automation.Experience with Spark.Experience working with Hadoop and Hive or environments where data is stored on Hadoop/Hive.Strong ownership, urgency, problem-solving ability, and willingness to learn.Desired Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.Previous experience with Quartz is helpful but not required.
