Global Mechanical Engineering Discipline Leader

The Role We are looking for a mechanical engineering leader to drive the standards, processes, and performance of our mechanical engineering discipline across our global R&D organization. In this role, you will lead a distributed engineering community, influence product development across multiple sites, and ensure the delivery of high-performance, cost-effective, and reliable mechanical solutions. You will play a key role in shaping engineering methods, tools, and capabilities as part of a cross-disciplinary team of global engineering leaders. What You Will Do Lead the Mechanical Engineering Discipline worldwide, collaborating with engineers globally, and ensuring alignment with business strategy and product roadmapsDefine and deploy global standards, methodologies, training, and tools for mechanical design and developmentAct as a technical authority and advisor to engineering leadership and cross-functional teamsWork closely with product development teams at all sites to support program execution, design reviews, and readiness for project gatesPromote cross-team collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvementCollaborate with business leaders, other engineering disciplines, and all company functions to meet business needs throughout the entire product life cycleEnsure successful delivery of quality mechanical engineering work packages across a portfolio of global projectsSupport global resource planning and capacity management for central and regional engineering teamsIdentify risks, drive mitigation plans, lead problem solving, and escalate issues impacting delivery or qualityDevelop and continuously improve a high-performing, collaborative global mechanical engineering communityAttract, develop, and retain the best talent to ensure the highest standard of excellenceLead hiring, performance management, and succession planningDrive skills development, training programs, and career pathways across the disciplineEnsure consistent application of engineering design processes from requirements through validation and productionPromote adoption of advanced tools, methods, and engineering practicesLead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and time-to-marketEnable a Platform Strategy to drive reuse and efficiency in product development What You Need To Have Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master’s or PhD preferred)15+ years of experience in mechanical engineering R&D within global industrial environments10+ years of direct and indirect leadership experience managing teams across multiple regionsStrong experience in:Full product lifecycleLeading global, cross-functional engineering teamsDriving process standardization and continuous improvement initiativesAbility to travel internationally as needed up to 10-15% of the time.Strategic mindset with strong technical credibility and excellent organizational skillsProven ability to influence in a global matrix organizationStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsLeadership style that fosters collaboration, accountability, and performanceAdaptability in a dynamic, fast-paced environmentExperience in the use of CAE / FEA to evaluate complex assemblies, thermal effects, structural dynamics, and material characterization preferredExperience with Design for Value and Design for Sustainability preferredExperience with Creo, Windchill, JIRA, SharePoint, and/or SAP preferred You’ll only be the right candidate if you are aligned to our values and culture: Collaborative entrepreneurial spiritWinning through customersHigh ethical standards, openness and trustExpectations for resultsRespect and value people If you believe you match our values and have the experience we’re looking for, apply!
