Role: Lead Software Engineer Type: 12-month contract with the potential for extension Location: Roseland, NJ Schedule: 3 days onsite Contract Rate: $75/hour (W2) Optomi, in partnership with a leading Human Resources company, is looking for a Lead Developer – Agentic SDLC to join their team. Position Summary: The Lead Developer will work as a hands-on technical lead within a small Agentic SDLC pod, focusing on building conversational HCM applications. This role involves using technologies such as React, Node.js/Java, and AWS to develop highly available and performant applications. The developer will work with event-driven and microservices architectures and leverage AI/LLM capabilities to enhance products and features. The position is based in Roseland, NJ, with a hybrid work model requiring 3 days onsite. What the right candidate will enjoy: Working in a fast-paced, experimental environment at ADP Innovation Labs.Leading a small, dynamic SDLC pod with shared QA resources.Opportunities to experiment with emerging AI technologies and adapt technical approaches. What type of experience does the right candidate have: 5+ years of experience in Node.js or Java development.Expertise in React, AWS, and event-driven architecture.Familiarity with AI/LLM platforms such as OpenAI or Anthropic.
