Role : Program Manager - Mainframe Software Migration Location : Canada (Remote) Top 3 skills required for this role: Project management experienceIBM Z Mainframe experience and Experience with IBM Z software productsExperience doing application development on IBM Z, including programming languages like Cobol or PL/1 is a plus Key Skills: PMP or PRINCE2 certificationProgram management of large, multi-workstream IBM Z migrationsScope, cost, schedule & contractual deliverable ownershipPlanning, tracking and change controlRisk, issue and dependency managementClient and stakeholder governance Job Description/ Responsibilities Provide project management of software migration projects for clients on the IBM Z platformConsult with management and review project proposals to determine goals, time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, and allocation of resourcesAnalyze the need for and provide the necessary project management for project planning, execution (including the development of project plans)Report on project activities, changes in scope, challenges and requirements to the leadership team as a strategic tool in keeping implementers and decision makers moving toward consistent, business or mission-focused goals and objectivesCommunicate with management internally and at the customer on ongoing status, milestones, and project risksReview and analyze process & procedures in order to find opportunities for improvement and increased efficiencies, then help drive implementation of these improvementsMonitor, assess, and improve the effectiveness of program best practices, ensuring continual process and quality improvement with a primary focus on the client accountThis is a remote job opportunity which will require some travel to client sites across North America Required Professional and Technical Expertise: At least five years of technical project management experiencePMP or PRINCE2 certificationDemonstrated knowledge of operations and project management skillsDemonstrated excellent written and communications skillsExperience managing cross-functional technical teams, with overall responsibility for managing scope, cost, schedule, and contractual deliverables, which includes applying techniques for planning, tracking, change control, and risk managementDemonstrated experience creating and managing complicated project plans that span multiple years that leverage client, consulting and 3rd party organization resourcesStrong negotiation skills with the ability to organize competing priorities and adapt to change Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise: IBM Z Mainframe experienceExperience with IBM Z software productsMicrosoft Office (Word, PPT) certificationExperience doing application development on IBM Z, including programming languages like Cobol or PL/1 is a plus We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
