Primary Function Performs advanced engineering tasks with no direct supervision. Lead mentor to the engineering design team in development projects throughout the entire cycle from initial concept through successful completion. Responsibilities Provide technical leadership in the resolution of complex mechanical issues affecting production equipment and plant infrastructure.Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies aimed at improving asset reliability and performance.Conduct failure analyses (Root Cause Analysis) and recommend sustainable corrective actions.Identify and lead continuous improvement projects focused on enhancing equipment performance, safety, and equipment life cycle.Provide technical support to maintenance teams during complex repairs, troubleshooting activities, and emergency situations.Assess equipment condition and recommend repairs, replacements, upgrades, or capital investments as required.Prepare technical specifications, scopes of work, engineering documents, and requests for quotations (RFQs) for mechanical projects.Supervise contractors and suppliers during equipment installation, repair, modification, and maintenance activities.Participate in the development and management of maintenance and capital expenditure (CAPEX) budgets.Collaborate with production teams to optimize work methods and improve operational efficiency and performance.Participate in incident investigations and assist in identifying corrective actions when equipment-related issues are involved. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).Minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in project management or plant engineering.Experience in a heavy manufacturing or continuous production environment.Strong knowledge of industrial mechanical systems, including pumps, compressors, conveyors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, motors, gear reducers, and material handling equipment.Experience managing industrial capital projects (CAPEX).Bilingual in French and English, both written and spoken.
