The Role As an AI Developer in Cameco's AI and Automation group, you will design, build and maintain AI solutions and agentic applications on our AI platforms. You will work with technical and business teams to turn use cases into secure, reliable and high-value solutions, with a strong focus on hands-on development, integration, testing and production support. In This Role, You Will Design, develop, test and maintain AI solutions and agentic applications on Cameco’s secure enterprise AI platform.Build and integrate AI use cases by connecting approved enterprise data sources, including GCP/BigQuery, Microsoft 365 and file shares.Implement and configure base and fine-tuned models and assemble approved workflows for AI agents.Write clean, maintainable and well-documented code and contribute to code reviews, version control, automated testing and CI/CD practices.Develop and execute tests and evaluations for AI solution quality, reliability, security and performance.Apply security, privacy and responsible AI controls in accordance with Cameco's AI governance framework.Implement appropriate human oversight, authorization, logging and control mechanisms for AI agents that access information or perform actions across enterprise systems.Troubleshoot, validate and support deployed AI solutions in production.Work with architects and business partners to translate requirements into practical AI and automation solutions. Required bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, or related field; up to three years’ experience of software development experience, or applied education in AI/ML, data engineering, analytics or AI-enabled application development; equivalent combination of education and work experience considered; proficiency in Python or a comparable programming language and experience with Git, testing and CI/CD practices;knowledge of AI/ML techniques such as model integration, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation and agentic frameworks; andexperience or demonstrated ability to integrate applications with APIs and data sources Recommended experience developing or integrating applications in containerized or cloud-native environments;familiarity with Red Hat OpenShift, OpenShift AI, Kubernetes or containers;knowledge of identity, access and security controls applied to AI solutions;experience with GCP/BigQuery, Microsoft 365 or on-premise file shares; andfamiliarity with responsible AI or regulated-industry practices.
