About The Role We are seeking a motivated, career-oriented Platform Engineer to join MANTECH's dynamic team in Tampa, FL. The ideal candidate will leverage their extensive technical expertise to develop, maintain, and optimize the company's production environment. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our infrastructure remains modern, secure, and highly available, providing a robust foundation for all product teams to deploy containerized applications efficiently. The Platform Engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers and operations personnel, to troubleshoot issues, implement automation, and improve platform performance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge cloud and container orchestration technologies, contributing directly to mission-critical projects that support national security initiatives. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a combination of education, experience, and certifications, including: High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 7+ years of progressive experience in Information Systems Security or Platform Engineering.Proven expertise in implementing DevSecOps practices utilizing tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or similar industry-standard solutions.Hands-on experience managing and maintaining containerized environments like Kubernetes, OpenShift, or VMWare PKS.Strong knowledge of Linux systems administration, troubleshooting, and enterprise environment management.Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash to automate processes and improve system management.Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or Ansible, and source control/versioning methodologies.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. Responsibilities The Platform Engineer will be responsible for a broad range of tasks essential to maintaining a secure and efficient infrastructure, including: Developing, configuring, and maintaining production container orchestration environments such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, and VMWare PKS Essentials.Ensuring that the infrastructure foundation remains modern, secure, and highly available to support product deployment activities.Collaborating with co-located team members and product developers to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues promptly.Monitoring platform performance, implementing scaling strategies, and ensuring system reliability and uptime.Automating infrastructure provisioning and configuration management to streamline operations and reduce manual intervention.Managing the software build process and ensuring seamless integration with enterprise CI/CD pipelines.Maintaining system baselines and configuration management items for the production environment.Working closely with stakeholders to ensure systems meet all operational and security requirements, providing continuous improvements.
