About The Role We are seeking a skilled Specialist in Software Engineering with a focus on AWS Cloud to join our dynamic GGSS Cloud team in Melbourne, FL. This role involves operating, maintaining, and enhancing our cloud-based systems utilizing Amazon Web Services (AWS). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, cloud infrastructure, and deployment practices. As part of our team, you will contribute to delivering modern, scalable solutions that support customer operations and information management services across various domains. The position offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge cloud technologies, including Kubernetes, containerization, and security solutions, in a collaborative environment that values innovation and continuous improvement. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of four years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree with at least two years of experience. Alternatively, candidates with a minimum of eight years of related experience without a degree will also be considered. Essential technical skills include hands-on experience developing and deploying containerized applications using Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, or similar tools. Candidates should have proficiency working within Linux environments, including scripting, configuration, and software deployment. Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, and Infrastructure as Code platforms like Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent is required. Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Associate are highly desirable and will be considered a plus. Responsibilities Monitor and implement updates from AWS and third-party vendors to ensure cloud system reliability and security.Maintain and enhance Kubernetes-based cloud architecture to optimize performance and scalability.Utilize programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++ to develop and modify cloud applications and services.Support Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions, including single sign-on, Active Directory, or Keycloak, to ensure secure access controls.Assist in migrating existing applications to cloud environments, ensuring minimal disruption and optimal performance.Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for developers, administrators, and operators to facilitate ongoing support and knowledge sharing.Ensure consistency across cloud infrastructure, including version tagging, naming conventions, and baseline configurations.Apply networking principles and security best practices within the AWS cloud environment to safeguard data and resources.Design, code, and test new software features or modify existing applications to meet evolving mission requirements.Maintain awareness of industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend improvements and innovative solutions.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, reliable cloud solutions that meet customer needs.
