Senior Frontend Engineer About The Role We're looking for a senior frontend engineer to help shape the technical direction of our product interface and support the team as a frontend expert. You'll build key parts of the product, contribute to the patterns and standards the team follows, and work closely with Product, Design, and Backend to bring features to life. This is a hands-on role focused on helping raise the bar for architecture, performance, testing, and engineering standards. You'll also support the engineers around you through code review, pairing, and mentorship. What You’ll Do Build and own key parts of the product interface, from guided workflows and data entry screens to reporting, where accuracy and ease of use matter most.Set frontend technical direction, including architecture patterns, state management, component boundaries, and testing strategy. Document these standards so they last beyond any single project.Treat frontend performance as an ongoing discipline. Set performance targets for our heaviest views and track them so issues are caught before customers notice.Help the engineers around you grow through code review, pairing, and mentorship.Work with our Principal Engineer and other tech leads on shared frontend standards and the common component library.Work closely with Product, Design, QA, and Backend to decide what gets built, not just how. That includes pushing back when a design will add friction or lead to bad data.Help improve how the team works. We use Scrum and are open about where it causes friction, and we expect senior engineers to help fix that. Required What we’re looking for: 5+ years building production web applications in React and TypeScript.Demonstrated ownership of frontend architecture on a non-trivial product — you’ve made the calls on state management, component structure, and testing strategy, and lived with the consequences.Concrete experience diagnosing and fixing frontend performance in data-dense UIs: large tables and lists, virtualization, render profiling, bundle size.Deep fluency in HTML, CSS, and modern build tooling.Experience building complex forms and data-entry flows where validation, error states, and edge cases are the hard part.Working knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA) and how to build them, not audit for them afterward.Ability to explain a technical trade-off to a product manager or a customer success lead as clearly as to another engineer.Advanced English, written and verbal — the team is distributed across Canada/US. Nice To Have Exposure to accounting, fiduciary, legal tech, fintech, or another regulated domain. You don’t need to know about Estates and Trusts; you do need to be genuinely interested in learning the domain deeply, because you can’t design good entry workflows for a system you don’t understand.Design system ownership or significant contribution to a shared component library.Experience with our adjacent stack: Hook state management, Design system (UntitledUI), Vitetest, NestJS/Node.js, MongoDB.
