Microsoft Cloud Engineer £50,000 – £60,000 | Remote UK | Azure | Microsoft 365 | Automation | MSP Are you a Microsoft Cloud Engineer who wants to do more than simply maintain environments and work through support tickets? We’re working with an established UK managed services provider looking for a Microsoft Cloud Engineer to join its Product Architecture & Engineering function. This is a hands-on engineering role, but with a difference. Rather than building a solution for one customer and moving onto the next, you’ll help design, automate and standardise Microsoft cloud services that can be deployed consistently across a wide range of customers. You could be taking an Azure capability from initial requirement through to a fully documented, automated and supportable service. That might mean defining the architecture, building deployment templates, automating with PowerShell or Infrastructure as Code, creating standards and documentation, and working with operational teams to make sure it can be supported properly once live. What will you be working with? The Microsoft estate is broad, so you aren't expected to be an expert in absolutely everything. We’re particularly interested in people with strong Azure experience alongside exposure to areas such as: Microsoft AzureMicrosoft 365Entra IDIntuneMicrosoft security technologiesWindows infrastructurePowerShellInfrastructure as Code, including Bicep or TerraformGit and CI/CDAutomation and DevOps practices The important thing is that you're comfortable building and improving Microsoft solutions, rather than solely administering them. Why is the MSP experience relevant? This team builds services that ultimately need to work across multiple customer environments. If you've worked for an MSP, Microsoft consultancy, cloud consultancy or within professional services, there's a good chance you'll already understand the challenge: different customer requirements, different environments and different constraints, while still trying to create solutions that are scalable, supportable and repeatable. Experience creating Azure Landing Zones, reusable deployment templates, automated builds, standard configurations, runbooks or managed cloud services would be particularly relevant. You don't necessarily need to have formally owned a "product" before. We're much more interested in whether you've naturally looked at a technical problem and thought: "How can we automate this, standardise it and make it easier to deploy again?" What are we looking for? You'll probably come from a background such as Azure Engineering, Microsoft Cloud, Infrastructure, DevOps, Platform Engineering or Technical Consultancy. You should have strong hands-on Microsoft/Azure experience and be comfortable working with technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand requirements and turn them into working solutions. We're particularly keen to speak with people who have experience of taking solutions from design and build through to documentation and operational handover. You might already be operating at Senior Engineer level, or you could be a strong mid-level engineer looking for the opportunity to take on broader technical ownership and continue progressing.
