Position Summary
Certified Technical Experts, Inc.
(CTE) is seeking an experienced QA / Test Automation / Performance / Accessibility Engineer to ensure software quality through automated testing, integration testing, end-to-end validation, performance testing, accessibility verification, and continuous quality engineering.
This position works within Agile product teams to build quality into delivery rather than treating testing as a final-stage activity.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and execute automated, functional, integration, regression, API, end-to-end, and exploratory tests.
• Develop and maintain test automation frameworks and reusable test suites using modern testing tools.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and establish practical quality gates.
• Plan and execute performance, load, and reliability testing and analyze resulting bottlenecks.
• Evaluate web application accessibility against Section 508 and WCAG requirements and document remediation needs.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, developers, UX specialists, analysts, and DevSecOps engineers throughout the sprint lifecycle.
• Review requirements and acceptance criteria for testability, completeness, and risk coverage.
• Track defects, quality trends, regression risk, and release readiness and communicate findings clearly.
• Support user acceptance testing, release validation, and production issue reproduction when needed.
• Promote continuous improvement of test coverage, automation, and quality engineering practices.
Required Qualifications
• 6+ years of software QA, test automation, performance testing, or quality engineering experience.
• Strong experience with Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or comparable web automation tools.
• Experience with API testing, automated regression, integration testing, and CI/CD quality gates.
• Experience with JMeter or comparable performance and load-testing tools.
• Working knowledge of Section 508, WCAG, and accessibility testing methods.
• Experience testing complex enterprise or workflow-driven applications.
• Strong defect analysis, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
• Experience working as an embedded member of Agile software teams.
Education
Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
Preferred: Advanced QA, accessibility, or software testing training.
Target Certifications
• ISTQB certification
• IAAP Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC)
Equivalent or advanced certifications may be considered where appropriate based on the candidate’s experience and the needs of the position.
Preferred Experience
• Federal health IT or public health application testing experience.
• Experience supporting NBS or comparable enterprise applications.
• Experience with API and interoperability testing.
• Experience with accessibility automation plus manual assistive-technology validation.
• Experience integrating test results with GitHub Actions or comparable CI/CD platforms.
Work Authorization and Federal Suitability
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be able to successfully complete the applicable Government background investigation.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain required Federal credentials and information-system access.
• Must comply with applicable Federal security, privacy, confidentiality, and acceptable-use requirements.
