Role : Mainframe Devops Tools Migration Expert- z/OS Location : Canada (Remote) Key Skills: Mainframe DevOps tooling & CI/CD enablementIBM DBB, IDz, IBM DevOps Deploy (IDD), Wazi, Zowe CLI, ADDI, zUnitEndevor to Git / DBB / IDD migrationEnterprise CI/CD – GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLabz/OS systems programming fundamentals ROLE PROFILE Job Description/ Responsibilities Core Responsibilities Lead and support Endevor (and other SCM) → Git/DBB/IDD migration projects across enterprise z/OS environments.Architect and implement DevOps pipelines using Git, DBB, IDD, Wazi Deploy, and modern CI/CD platforms.Perform installation, configuration, and problem determination for DBB, Git, IDD, and Wazi on z/OS and USS.Analyze, convert, validate, and troubleshoot Endevor applications, processors, metadata, and dependency structures.Debug pipeline failures, compiler/link edit errors, dependency issues, repository sync problems, and build map inconsistencies.Deliver customer training sessions, hands on workshops, and enablement for Git/DBB/IDD/Wazi workflows.Collaborate with IBM teams, architects, and client stakeholders to ensure successful modernization outcomes.Document migration processes, best practices, runbooks, and technical resolutions for repeatable delivery. Core Technical Skills Hands on experience performing Endevor → Git/DBB migrations.Strong proficiency with Git, branching strategies, repository management, and code review workflows.Experience authoring Groovy (Jenkins pipelines) and YAML (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab).Hands on experience with IBM DBB, including build scripts, build maps, dependency analysis, and automated compilation.Experience with IDD and/or IBM Wazi Deploy for deployment automation.Strong ability to debug pipeline/build failures, compiler/link edit errors, dependency issues, and conversion mismatches.Experience performing installation, configuration, and problem determination for DBB/IDD/Wazi on z/OS and USS. Mainframe Background Strong z/OS and USS experience.Application development or system programmer background (COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, VSAM preferred).Experience with SMP/E, PARMLIB, JES2/JES3, and subsystem configuration is a plus. Consulting & Communication Clear, concise communication skills with the ability to articulate the Git/DBB lifecycle.Proven customer facing consulting experience (4+ years preferred).Ability to diagnose and resolve conversion related errors and guide clients through remediation.Experience in preparing and delivering technical presentations, migration documentation, and training materials.Training & Knowledge TransferAbility to conduct DBB/Git/IDD/Wazi training sessions and hands on enablement workshops.Experience mentoring development teams on Git workflows, branching, pipeline debugging, and DevOps best practices. Preferred Technical And Professional Experience: 8+ years as a Systems Programmer, Application Developer, or Mainframe DevOps Engineer.Experience with IBM IDz, Zowe CLI, Wazi Deploy, ADDI, or zUnit.Experience with GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitLab CI/CD.Experience with Artifactory, Nexus, or Wazi Deploy artifact management.Experience in mainframe modernization, DevOps transformation, or SCM migration programs.
