As part of our team, you can expect: Full Health and Wellness Benefits plan with Health Spending AccountsCompany RRSP/TFSA Savings PlansThree (3) Weeks VacationTwelve (12) Paid HolidaysFlexible office hours/Remote WorkDesignated Sick Time OffWorking closely with industry proven professionalsFully expensed paid travel for project/workTeam Social Events & Activities Responsibilities: Develop SCADA system designs – communication architectures, input/output schematics, point assignmentsReview electrical drawings to interpret for signal lists and develop SCADA graphicsDevelop custom HMI graphical interface with SCADA applicationsConfigure RTUs and various automation controllersIntegrate SCADA systems to substation devices – relays, DFR, meters, etcSetup substation IEDs for SCADAIntegrate SCADA systems to various devices utilizing various SCADA protocolsCreate protocol databases using industrial protocols (ie SEL, Modbus, DNP, OPC)Point to point testing and commissioning of SCADA systemsDevelop SAT and FAT test plansBecome knowledgeable with various client and industry standards.Eligible to travel for projects throughout Canada and the USA, for system integration and commissioning Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in electrical/computer engineering or Diploma in SCADA/Automation TechnologistEligible for registration as a Professional Engineer/Technologist with APEGGA/ASET and other provincial associations as required.Minimum 1-4 years of experience in SCADA systemsStrong understanding of computer networking and firewall/routing requirementsExperienced with TCP/IP, Modbus, DNP, OPC, SQLFamiliar with electrical control system designFamiliar with authentication servers, virtual machines and various operating system configurationsIdeal candidate will have a strong understanding of SCADA systems integrationPossess strong written and oral communication skills.Possess strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.Advanced problem-solving skills.Experienced with field level system integration, troubleshooting and commissioning Experience with any of the following would be considered an asset: Familiar with Inductive Automation Ignition platform.Protocols such as DNP3, Modbus, IEC 61850, OPCHigh voltage experience for electric utilities, renewables and oil and gas.Ethernet and IP networks, and serial communication.Microsoft Excel including custom macros.Power systems knowledge.Vendor knowledge for any of GE Energy/Harris, Cooper Power Systems, Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, SUBNET Solutions, ABB, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Belden, and Trihedral (VTScada).Protocol analyzers such as ASE2000 test set. Compensation: The salary range for this position is $75,000–$110,000 CAD per year. Actual salary will vary based on factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
