Position Title Process Automation Engineer / Automation Developer Location: Vienna, VA — Hybrid (3 days onsite per week) Clearance Requirements None specified Position Status Contract Pay Rate $60.00/hr on w2 Position Description We are seeking a Process Automation Engineer / Automation Developer to design, develop, maintain, and support enterprise automation solutions, distributed intake channels, web services, and workflow orchestration platforms. This role partners with cross-functional technology teams to identify opportunities for process improvement, automate repetitive administrative tasks, and develop scalable, highly available automation and web application solutions. The ideal candidate can translate complex technical processes into practical automation opportunities and communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders. You will work with technologies including Micro Focus Operations Orchestration (OO), PHP, .NET, JavaScript, Python, PowerShell, web services, APIs, databases, and Windows/Linux environments while helping advance enterprise automation capabilities through modern tools, technologies, and best practices. Key Responsibilities Partner with technology teams to identify, redesign, and automate business and technical processes. Design, develop, test, and maintain reusable automation workflows, web applications, and orchestration services. Build highly available automation solutions supporting server, storage, database, and network technologies. Develop and enhance automation using Micro Focus Operations Orchestration and related orchestration platforms. Automate repeatable administration and operational tasks to improve reliability, scalability, and efficiency. Establish standardized invocation channels for orchestrated services, enabling improved traceability, reporting, and service delivery. Evaluate emerging automation technologies and industry best practices to continuously enhance the enterprise orchestration platform. Collaborate across technology teams to increase adoption and readiness of automation and web application solutions. Analyze existing processes and recommend opportunities for continuous improvement. Develop clear and comprehensive technical documentation, including architecture and process diagrams. Translate complex technical concepts into understandable solutions for customers and business stakeholders. Support development, testing, troubleshooting, and ongoing enhancement of enterprise web applications and automation services. Required Skills/Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Strong knowledge of JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3. Experience with object-oriented PHP development. Experience developing, testing, and supporting web applications. Proficiency with one or more programming/scripting technologies, including:Python PHP Java PowerShell / PowerCLI Perl VBScript Rexx Windows Batch Scripting Web Services / REST APIs Experience working with Windows and Linux/Unix operating systems. Experience with database technologies and administration, such as Oracle, DB2, and/or SQL Server. Experience with data analysis and interpreting technical information. Ability to identify automation opportunities and translate technical requirements into practical, reusable solutions. Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and documentation skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional technology teams and business stakeholders.
