Senior Software Developer/Engineer

As the Sr Software Developer/Engineer, you will perform analysis and make recommendations for implementing updates/upgrades to the current CDSs and/or development of a new CDS. SEWS currently operates within three geographic CCMD's areas of responsibility (U.S. European Command (USEUCOM), U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM), and U.S. India Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) in support of the Department of State (DOS), U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) and US Air Force Space Command (AFSPC) missions. Clearance: Top Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI. Travel Required: Yes (Ability to travel approximately 4-6 weeks a year) Requirements Essential Functions Improves software quality by identifying issues and common patterns, and developing standard operating proceduresEnhances applications by identifying opportunities for improvement, making recommendations and designing and implementing software systemsMaintains and improves existing codebases and peer review code changesLiaises with colleagues to implement technical designsInvestigates and uses new technologies where relevantDetermines and analyzes requirements for software supporting training/testing devicesConducts independent software validation, verification, and accreditation.Provide support for CDS-related issues, ensuring the issue is resolved quickly and corrective actions are well documentedTravel to CDS sites to perform updates/installations, provide CDS-related training as requestedWork with the CDS vendor when a new build is being developed, providing guidance and assisting with the testingMaintain awareness of Raise the Bar (RTB) requirements and ensure the CDSs are in compliance with updates Required Experience Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field, Master's preferred5+ years of software development experienceIn-depth knowledge of SELinux, Python, Perl, C++, Java, bash, regular expressionsAbility to perform reverse engineering to analyze items identified aboveAbility to learn new programming conceptsAbility to troubleshoot issues and make appropriate modifications Additional Eligibility Qualifications Must have an active Top Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCIDoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP) required to start, CISSP preferredThe flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirementsAbility to travel approximately 4-6 weeks a year Benefits Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)Retirement Plan (401K w/ employer matching)Paid Time Off & 11 Paid Public HolidaysShort and Long-Term DisabilityHealthy Work-Life BalanceTraining & Development Why Work For Paragon Cyber Solutions?
