We do not support or transfer other visa types (e.g., H-1B). Talan is looking for a Senior Software Engineer - AWS / Python to support a key client in the energy trading industry. The role focuses on designing, developing, deploying, and supporting secure, scalable cloud applications and data services supporting pre-trade, market data, pricing, and analytics. AWS is the primary cloud platform and Python the main development language. Key Responsibilities Build and support cloud-native applications, APIs, microservices, and event-driven solutions on AWS.Develop backend services and automation in Python.Design services handling market data, pricing, analytics, and pre-trade workflows.Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation.Build and maintain CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, and observability.Apply cloud security and secure software-development best practices.Optimize application performance, reliability, scalability, and AWS costs.Lead technical discussions, code reviews, and architecture reviews.Mentor junior and mid-level engineers. Qualifications 10+ years of experience designing, building, and maintaining high-throughput, reliable ETL/ELT data pipelines using Python and SQL. 5+ years of hands-on experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including services such as AWS S3, Glue, Redshift, Azure Data Factory, and BigQuery. Strong experience with CI/CD, Git, production support, observability, and incident management, including AWS Glue environments. Experience designing and developing APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures. Experience with Docker and container orchestration platforms, including ECS and EKS. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation; AWS certification preferred.
