Project Engineer - Infrastructure Electronics

What to Expect We’re seeking a Project Engineer – Infrastructure Electronics to join our growing team. Reporting to our Engineering Manager, you will be the technical responsible for different Electrical Module development. You will play an important role, working closely with stakeholders finalising the design, mechanical & electrical interfaces requirements. Whilst taking overall technical delivery through of this Electrical component, you will act as component owner for agreed ECUs. Working within the Hardware Electronics team, this role will have responsibility of delivering hardware electronics components and support with software from concept through to production. What You'll Do Business Knowledge: – Lead the development and delivery of electrical/electronic systems throughout the project lifecycle, including requirements, timing plans, and component integration. – Manage verification and validation activities, including FMEA, test planning, functionality testing, and system sign-off. – Coordinate suppliers and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery, quality, and compliance. – Support prototype, mule vehicle, lab car, and test rig development activities from concept through validation. – Represent Electrical Engineering in internal programme reviews, engineering forums, and supplier engagements. What You'll Bring Essential Functional / Technical Skills: – Strong expertise in automotive electrical and electronic systems, including architectures, ECUs, sensors, harnesses, CAN/LIN networks, and body electronics. – Proven experience in component and system design, development, integration, testing, and standardisation within OEM, Tier 1, or engineering environments. – Understanding of automotive software features, hardware integration, vehicle operating systems, and development processes. – Experienced in generating and approving technical specifications, managing suppliers, and delivering components through the full product lifecycle. – Proficient with engineering and business tools, including MS Office, SAP, 3Dx, and requirement tools with experience supporting lab cars, mule vehicles, and proof-of-concept activities.
