Senior Full Stack Software Engineering Technical Lead

Job Title: Senior Software Engineering Technical Lead Company: Certified Technical Experts Rate: Open – Full Time Location: Atlanta, GA Position Summary Certified Technical Experts, Inc. (CTE) is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineering Technical Lead to provide hands-on technical leadership for full-stack software engineering teams modernizing and sustaining mission-critical Federal public health applications. This role guides engineering standards, solution design, code quality, delivery practices, and technical problem solving while remaining actively engaged in development and mentoring. Key Responsibilities Lead software design and development for complex application features, services, APIs, and integrations.Provide technical direction and mentoring to software engineers across Agile product teams.Establish and reinforce coding standards, design patterns, review practices, and engineering quality expectations.Collaborate with architects, Product Managers, UX, QA, DevSecOps, data, and security teams on solution design and delivery.Review code, resolve complex defects, and guide refactoring and modernization of existing application components.Support API design, integration, performance, security, testability, and maintainability.Promote automated testing, CI/CD, secure coding, and observability throughout development.Identify technical risks, dependencies, and debt and help teams implement pragmatic remediation plans.Support release readiness, production issue analysis, and knowledge transfer.Contribute to technical documentation and engineering decision records.Required Qualifications 12+ years of full-stack software engineering experience with demonstrated technical leadership responsibility.Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, SQL, and modern web application development.Experience leading code reviews, solution design, refactoring, and engineering standards.Strong knowledge of CI/CD, automated testing, containers, cloud environments, and secure software development.Experience integrating enterprise applications with APIs, messaging, identity, or data services.Ability to troubleshoot complex application and integration issues across the stack.Experience working in Agile development environments with distributed teams.Excellent mentoring, technical communication, and problem-solving skills.Education Required: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Preferred: Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
