Senior Trading Production Support Engineer

Role Summary Aubay UK is seeking a Senior Trading Production Support Engineer / Market Data Support Engineer to join a global trading technology team supporting critical derivatives trading and market data platforms within a leading global energy organisation. This permanent position is based on-site in London and will focus on front-office production support, market data distribution services, FIX connectivity, exchange integrations, OMS/EMS platforms and time-series analytics environments including kdb+. The role combines incident management, platform reliability, operational excellence and continuous improvement across global trading environments. Type of Role Permanent Location and Travel London, UK (Hybrid) Required Skills and Experience • Minimum 6 years of experience in Commodity Trading, Capital Markets or Investment Banking environments. • Strong understanding of major global futures exchanges. • Knowledge of the full exchange-traded derivatives lifecycle. • Extensive Front Office application support experience. • Experience supporting OMS, EMS and trading platforms. • Knowledge of Bloomberg, Refinitiv and other market data providers. • Minimum 3 years supporting real-time market data distribution platforms and feed handlers. • Minimum 3 years supporting time-series analytics platforms such as kdb+, Shakti or similar technologies. • Minimum 3 years of FIX Engineering experience. • Experience with exchange and vendor certification processes. • Knowledge of TCP, multicast networking and messaging technologies. • Strong troubleshooting, incident management and root cause analysis skills. Desired Skills and Experience • Experience supporting algorithmic trading platforms. • Knowledge of RTS6, algorithmic trading regulations, audit and compliance requirements. • Scripting and automation experience. • Knowledge of TT, NYFIX, Bloomberg, TradingScreen and similar vendors. • Experience with multicast traffic management, arbitration and message queue technologies. Role Responsibilities • Ensure proactive monitoring and management of critical trading workflows. • Improve stability, resilience and operational performance of global derivatives trading platforms. • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues for traders, developers and business users. • Act as a subject matter expert for trading systems and market data initiatives. • Support exchange connectivity, market data platforms, OMS/EMS systems and FIX infrastructure. • Perform detailed root cause analysis and drive long-term reliability improvements. • Collaborate with delivery and infrastructure teams on platform enhancements and technical debt reduction. • Develop automation and operational improvements where appropriate. • Participate in a global on-call support rota.
