QA Automation Engineer

Job Title: QA Automation Engineer Duration: 6-12 Month Contract Location: Toronto, Ontario AND Montreal, Quebec (Hybrid, 3 days In-Office) Montreal candidates must be fully bilingual in English and French. Role Status: Current Opening About the Opportunity Our client is looking for an experienced QA Automation Engineer to support the continued development and enhancement of business-critical technology applications. This position will have a strong focus on test automation, including building and improving automated testing capabilities across complex applications. You'll work closely with software development and technology teams to ensure solutions are thoroughly tested, reliable, and ready for production. The ideal candidate combines strong QA fundamentals with hands-on technical and scripting experience and is comfortable working in a collaborative Agile environment. Principal Tasks and Responsibilities Include: Build, enhance, and maintain automated testing frameworks and supporting solutions. Develop and execute automated tests across functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end scenarios. Review technical and business requirements and translate them into effective testing strategies and test cases. Collaborate with development teams to identify defects, troubleshoot issues, and improve overall application quality. Identify opportunities to increase test automation, improve coverage, and streamline existing QA processes. Qualifications and Pre-Requisites: 4+ years of professional experience in software quality assurance and application testing. Strong hands-on experience designing and developing automated testing solutions. Development or scripting experience with Python and experience with browser-based automation tools such as Selenium. Experience testing APIs and web-based applications, along with strong knowledge of modern QA practices and the software development lifecycle. Comfortable working with SQL and Linux/UNIX environments and collaborating within an Agile development team. For candidates based in Montreal, full professional bilingualism in English and French is required. Nice to Have: Experience supporting complex, high-volume or transaction-based applications. Performance or load-testing experience. Exposure to cloud environments.
