Description

Build AI that lawyers actually trust Our client, a global leader in legal and professional information, is growing its Forward Deployed Engineering team. This team works behind one of the most widely used legal AI platforms in the world. It works closely with top law firms, corporate legal departments and accounting teams, both in person and remotely, to design, build and ship custom AI solutions that change how their work gets done. This isn't a research role, and it isn't a back-office role. You'll own real production systems, and you'll be the engineer in the room with the client, turning messy legal workflows into AI agents that work. What you'll do Build production AI for legal workflows: contract review, litigation support, discovery automation and regulatory analysis.Engineer RAG pipelines, custom agents and multi-step agent workflows using LangChain/LangGraph, proprietary legal content, third-party LLMs and enterprise systems.Own quality: design AI evals, benchmarking, tracing, monitoring and red-teaming, so the outputs hold up in front of lawyers.Lead technical discovery with attorneys, accountants and business stakeholders, and turn their needs into engineering plans and working prototypes.Try out new techniques and standards like the Model Context Protocol (MCP), and build reusable tools for the team. What you bring 5+ years as a software engineer. You're a strong traditional engineer (system design, distributed systems, clean architecture) who has moved into building AI products.2+ years shipping LLM/AI applications to production, not just proofs of concept.Deep Python and backend skills: REST APIs, async services, event-driven systems.Hands-on experience with LangChain and LangGraph (or PydanticAI/AutoGen), RAG and vector databases.AI evaluation and observability experience: LangSmith, Langfuse, Braintrust, W&B, Datadog, Grafana or similar.Cloud experience (AWS, Azure or GCP) with infrastructure as code, CI/CD and secure API development.Client-ready polish. You can explain an architecture to a law firm partner as easily as to an engineer, and you're comfortable working on your own when the path isn't clear. Bonus points MCP or LLM tool-integration experienceConsulting or client-facing tech background (Big 4, MBB, Accenture, L.E.K., Deloitte, PwC)Experience in legal, tax, accounting or other regulated industries Why this role Your work goes straight to elite law firms and Fortune 500 legal teams. You own the work end to end, from client discovery to production. You'll work on AI agents, MCP and evals at enterprise scale, backed by world-class legal content. You get startup energy on a fast-moving team, with the stability of a global industry leader.
