Java Developer
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Duration: 12 Months
Role Overview
This position is for an individual contributor Java Developer.
The role is responsible for developing and delivering complex software requirements to accomplish business goals.
This is a potential contract-to-hire opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure software is developed to meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements.Code solutions, unit tests, and ensure successful integration into the overall application/system.Contribute to story refinement and defining requirements.Participate in and guide team estimations for work necessary to realize a story/requirement.Perform proof of concepts as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas.Utilize multiple architectural components in the design and development of client requirements.Assist the team with resolving technical complexities.Contribute to existing test suites and analyze test reports to identify and triage issues.Document and communicate information for deployment, maintenance, support, and business functionality.
Required Qualifications
Technical Skills: Experience with the Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring Integration, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA).
Understanding of SOAP web services with XML and JSON.
Experience building restful web services.
Working knowledge of front-end technologies like Handlebars, Vue, and ReactJS.
Proficiency with XML and JSON binding libraries (JAXB, Jackson, GSON).
Experience with unit testing (JUnit), GIT, Maven, Artifactory, and Eclipse (or equivalent IDE).
Knowledge of GIT distributed version control, branching/merge strategies, and Bitbucket.
Familiarity with monitoring tools like Splunk and Dynatrace, as well as MQ (Websphere MQ or ActiveMQ).
Experience in performance tuning, Groovy, object-oriented programming, Java design patterns, and defensive programming.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field.5+ years of hands-on software development experience.Exposure to Agile methodologies.Ability to communicate complex technology solutions to diverse teams.Good interpersonal communication skills for technical and business conversations.Good analytical skills to break down requirements and solve problems.
Work Environment
The role requires a hybrid schedule with a minimum of three days onsite per week.
