Automation Engineer

Job Description & Core responsibilities: Automate traffic draining, maintenance, patching, software deployment, validation, and recovery workflows so operations are safe, repeatable, and auditable. Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks and orchestration workflows. Integrate proxy controls with patching, IPL/restart, and software-release processes. Build pre-checks, post-checks, health validation, rollback, and manual fallback procedures. Integrate automation with Jenkins and enterprise CI/CD pipelines. Apply source control, testing, approval, promotion, access-control, and audit standards to automation. Produce operational playbooks that BizOps can execute safely. Required skills: Senior engineer, ordinarily 6 or more years of relevant automation or DevOps experience. Advanced Ansible and Ansible Automation Platform experience. Jenkins or equivalent CI/CD orchestration. Python and Linux scripting. Infrastructure as Code, Git-based workflows, and API integration. Experience automating high-risk production maintenance and recovery procedures. Preferred experience: Network and application traffic-drain automation. Policy-based access control and enterprise change-management integration. Mission-critical infrastructure or transaction-processing environments.
