Senior Backend Developer

Freedom Technology Solutions Group is seeking a Software Engineer to support our client’s intelligence analysis products and capabilities. This position involves providing software development capabilities to enhance existing and emerging client capabilities, including design and development, modernization of existing applications and services, and operations and sustainment. The role focuses on driving the client’s adaptation of higher levels of automation and operational efficiency through agile development methodologies, rapid prototyping, and modern technology stacks. Responsibilities: Develop, modernize, and maintain software applications and servicesContribute to the design and architecture of high-performance applicationsLeverage agile methodologies to enhance operational efficiencyParticipate in rapid prototyping to quickly iterate and improve solutionsUtilize modern technology stacks to meet client needsImplement CI/CD pipelines using GitLabCollaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions Key Technologies: LinuxJavaContainerization (Docker, Podmad, Kubernetes, ...)VS CodeJira Qualifications: TS/SCI (eligible for CI Poly)9–13 years of backend software development experienceExperience working in Agile environmentsExperience using GitLab for code source repository and using GitLab CI/CDProficiency in at least two of the following:Python application/API developmentFastAPIBuilding high-performance applications in React.jsWeb services architecture, design, and developmentPostgreSQL database designAWS and specific AWS tooling (S3, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS)Experience developing customized code, scripts, modules, macro procedures, or libraries for specialized spatial analysis functions using languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, PHP, C, C++, C#, Perl, or similar Desired Qualifications: Ability to work independently with clients or stakeholders to develop user stories for full-service consumer and business applicationsExperience with government and/or commercial imagery products, including SAR or related RADAR imaging technologiesExperience working with and developing geospatial information systems (GIS) with open-source and proprietary geospatial formatsExperience using and developing with common geospatial tools, data, and operating platforms such as:Tools: Boundless Spatial suite, Remote View, PostGRES/PostGIS, Oracle Spatial, ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server, Image Server, File Geodatabases.Data Formats: KML, KMZ, NITF, TIFF, JPEG, GeoPDF, and similar geo-related formats and data structuresOperating Platforms: ESRI, OpenGeo Suite, or similarExperience abstracting new or legacy systems via standards-based APIs, including Open Geospatial Consortium standardsExperience in at least one of the following areas:Developing terrain analysis visualization and algorithmsDeveloping automated detection algorithmsExperience with Argo WorkflowsCertified Scrum MasterAgile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) What’s in It for You?
