We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to provide technical leadership and drive the architecture, design, and development of modern web-based products and services. This is a senior individual contributor opportunity for an experienced engineer who thrives on solving complex technical challenges, influencing product direction, and building scalable solutions that support business growth and user engagement. In this role, you will take ownership of key technical initiatives, collaborate across engineering, product, design, and stakeholder teams, and help define the architectural foundations that enable products to evolve and scale. You'll work across the full software development lifecycle while providing mentorship, guiding engineering best practices, and helping teams navigate complex technical decisions. What You'll Do Technical Leadership & Architecture Lead the design and architecture of new web-based products and services, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability.Establish engineering standards, software patterns, and architectural best practices across multiple products.Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that align with long-term business and technical objectives.Drive technical decision-making on complex initiatives and identify opportunities to improve system performance and sustainability.Software Development & Delivery Design, develop, test, and maintain modern web applications and services.Build prototypes, proof-of-concepts, and production-ready solutions to validate new ideas and capabilities.Contribute across the development lifecycle, including planning, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and operational support.Ensure high-quality code through testing, reviews, and adherence to engineering best practices.Product Innovation & Growth Partner with cross-functional teams to solve complex business challenges and deliver impactful customer-facing solutions.Support initiatives focused on increasing user adoption, engagement, and overall product success.Use data-driven insights to identify opportunities for product improvements and customer value creation.Balance technical excellence with business objectives to drive meaningful outcomes.Analytics, Data & Infrastructure Develop and enhance analytics capabilities that help teams understand user behavior and product performance.Build infrastructure and reporting solutions that enable data-informed decision-making.Leverage user insights to improve product experiences and support strategic planning.Identify opportunities to optimize platform performance, scalability, and operational efficiency.Collaboration & Influence Partner closely with engineering, product management, design, quality assurance, and other stakeholders to deliver solutions.Provide technical guidance across teams and contribute to organization-wide engineering initiatives.Facilitate architectural discussions, technical reviews, and collaborative problem-solving efforts.Work effectively in distributed and remote environments while fostering strong cross-functional relationships.Mentorship & Continuous Improvement Mentor engineers through code reviews, technical discussions, documentation, and knowledge sharing.Promote engineering best practices, development standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.Identify process improvements that reduce complexity, improve productivity, and enhance developer experiences.Help create scalable systems and workflows that are maintainable and easy for teams to support over time.What You'll Bring Extensive experience building and scaling modern web applications and distributed systems.Strong architectural expertise with a proven track record of designing reliable, high-performance software understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, testing methodologies, and code quality practices.Experience building scalable, secure, and high-performing web applications and services.Knowledge of modern cloud platforms, infrastructure, deployment practices, and observability solutions.Strong understanding of data-driven development and analytics implementation.Familiarity with AI-enabled development tools and emerging technologies that improve engineering productivity.Preferred Qualifications 10+ years of professional software engineering experience in web application development.Proven success delivering large-scale software products from concept through production.Experience serving as a technical lead, architect, or senior engineering contributor on complex initiatives.Background working within distributed, remote-first, or global engineering teams.Experience collaborating closely with product, design, and quality assurance organizations.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Open-source software contribution experience is a plus.Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, technical innovation, and engineering excellence.Willingness to travel occasionally as required for team collaboration and business needs.
