Job Description About the Role The Enterprise Data Management Office (EDMO) is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer III to design, develop, deploy, and support secure enterprise integration capabilities for the Data Compass platform. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with strong experience in API development, modern web applications, security, cloud technologies, enterprise-scale integrations, and AI-assisted software engineering. The successful candidate will help build next-generation metadata integration capabilities while leveraging modern AI development tools and coding agents to accelerate software delivery, improve quality, and enhance developer productivity. What You'll Do Design and develop Node.js backend services and enterprise integration components.Build secure REST APIs for metadata search, retrieval, creation, updates, and integrations.Implement Microsoft Entra ID authentication, OAuth2/OpenID Connect, JWT validation, and role-based access controls.Develop integrations with Collibra, PostgreSQL, and enterprise services.Build reusable, scalable, maintainable, and secure software components aligned with enterprise standards.Create automated unit, integration, API, and regression tests.Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and production releases.Troubleshoot and resolve complex application, integration, and production issues.Collaborate with architects, product owners, security teams, platform teams, and developers to deliver enterprise solutions.Leverage AI-powered development tools and coding assistants to improve code quality, engineering productivity, testing coverage, documentation generation, and solution delivery.Participate in the evaluation and adoption of AI-assisted software development practices, including code generation, code review, automated testing, and developer productivity tooling. Required Skills & Experience 7+ years of software engineering experience.Strong hands-on experience with:Node.js / TypeScriptREST API developmentSQL / PostgreSQLGit and CI/CDExperience implementing:OAuth2/OpenID ConnectJWT authenticationRBAC security modelsEnterprise integrationsExperience with Agile delivery methodologies and Jira.Experience working with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, Amazon Q, or similar developer productivity platforms.Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Collibra APIs, data governance, lineage, or metadata management platforms.Experience with HashiCorp Vault, Azure Key Vault, or enterprise secrets management.Knowledge of Azure cloud services and DevOps practices.Familiarity with Linux, NGINX, certificates, networking, and firewall concepts.Experience with monitoring platforms such as Dynatrace or Azure Monitor.Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, and modern cloud-native architectures.Experience developing AI-enabled applications, AI agents, MCP-based integrations, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) patterns, or agentic workflows.Understanding of prompt engineering, AI-assisted testing, code generation, and automated documentation practices.
