Legal Counsel - Privacy and Technology

As our Legal Counsel – Privacy & Technology, you will play an important role in shaping how privacy and other technology focused regulations are embedded in Tele2. You will join our Legal team, report to the Head of Legal, and serve as a trusted partner to colleagues across the business with the ability to quickly identify and help the business balance and manage data protection risks in new initiatives that often involve new technology. This is an opportunity to combine strategic thinking with hands-on impact. About the job This is a new role in our Legal team, with the possibility to shape the role yourself, and we expect you to be a driving force and enabler, helping our organization to work in compliance with privacy and other tech-related regulations such as the AI Act. You will: Shape and strengthen our data privacy compliance work by leading and evolving key areas of our privacy and AI governance programs, ensuring frameworks, processes, and controls remain effective, scalable, and aligned with business needs and regulatory expectations. Review business initiatives and provide clear, pragmatic, risk-based privacy guidance.Assisting the business in ensuring that key regulatory requirements are identified and completed, including RoPA, DPIAs, DPAs, and third-party due diligence. Help improve – and help invent – privacy processes, tools, and ways of working so they are efficient, and scalable across the organisation.Act as a visible and trusted partner to the business, promoting privacy by design and by default through early engagement and solution-oriented support. Contribute to other compliance activities, including training, incident support, data subject requests, monitoring, and audits. Who are you? We place great importance on your personal qualities. You should have the following qualifications: Relevant academic degree, preferably in law. 5+ years of experience in law, compliance, or tech-related regulatory work, with a passion for solving complex challenges at the intersection of law and technology. You enjoy partnering with product, IT, security, or engineering teams in a fast-moving, regulated environment.Solid knowledge of the GDPR and relevant legal and regulatory challenges in the data privacy area and ideally also in the telecom sector.Experience in other types of digital compliance, AI, data, cybersecurity, information security, and/or regulatory advisory within IT/Tech is a plus.Excellent communication skills in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.A genuine interest in contributing to a thriving work culture by being engaged and solution-oriented, and by creating good conditions for collaboration in a friendly and unpretentious manner.An innovative, forward-thinking, and curious approach to your own development, new technologies, regulations and ways of working.
