Cloud-based data platforms play a crucial role at BMW to provide our stakeholders with a robust, scalable, and efficient data backbone. Join us as a Dev-Ops Engineer for our Data platform, where you will play a key role in architecting, developing and deploying solutions with a global team for data driven solutions. By leveraging cloud technologies and implementing best practices in data governance you will play a significant role in driving BMW’s digital transformation journey.   What awaits you? You design and maintain scalable and reliable distributed systems based on AWS services. Furthermore, you work with distributed database systems and SQL using frameworks such as MapReduce and Spark. You develop clean and maintainable Python code while consistently applying testing best practices. Additionally, you implement CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code solutions with Terraform. You collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and improve data governance and pipeline management. You maintain and adapt knowledge graphs and ontologies for data-driven use cases. Together with an international team, you contribute to the continuous advancement of our cloud-based data platform. What should you bring along? University degree in computer science or a related field. At least 3 years of professional experience with a focus on data-driven technologies. Extensive experience in distributed systems and cloud architecture, especially with AWS. Strong knowledge of distributed database systems, SQL, data pipeline management, and data governance. Proficiency in Python programming and solid understanding of software engineering principles. Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
