About The Role Leadhub is seeking a skilled WordPress Developer to join our team in San Antonio, TX, on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building, maintaining, and enhancing client websites using our proprietary theme and development tools. This role requires a hands-on approach to web development, with a focus on creating fast-loading, SEO-optimized, and user-friendly websites that meet client specifications and industry standards. You will work closely with designers, SEO specialists, and project managers to deliver high-quality websites on schedule. Your expertise will ensure that each site not only looks great but also performs reliably, ranks well in search engines, and provides an excellent user experience. You will also be involved in improving our core theme and automating workflows to enhance efficiency and consistency across projects. Qualifications Minimum of three years of experience building and delivering WordPress websites, with a strong portfolio demonstrating your work.Proficiency in PHP, with the ability to write, debug, and understand complex codebases.Expertise in Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) and familiarity with the WordPress template hierarchy.Hands-on experience with page builders such as Elementor or Bricks, with the judgment to know when to use them or avoid them.Understanding of technical SEO principles, including schema markup, site speed optimization, semantic HTML, and crawlability.Knowledge of AI search concepts and how to structure data to feed AI-driven search results.Experience automating workflows using tools like Zapier or Make, and scripting against APIs in PHP, JavaScript, or Python.Proficiency with version control systems such as Git, and a disciplined approach to staging, testing, and deployment.Attention to detail, especially regarding forms, tracking, and site integrations, ensuring they function correctly and reliably.Ability to quickly adapt to existing codebases and work within established frameworks without unnecessary rewrites.Strong communication skills and a professional attitude towards project management and client interaction. Responsibilities Develop and deploy client websites based on Leadhub’s custom theme, translating designer files into fully functional live sites.Extend and improve the core theme to benefit future projects, ensuring code reusability and maintainability.Wire content using Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), enabling non-developers to easily update content without breaking layouts.Utilize Elementor or other page builders when appropriate, and hand-code when necessary for performance or customization.Optimize pages for speed by compressing images, minimizing plugin use, and avoiding unnecessary scripts.Implement schema markup and structured data to enhance search visibility and AI-driven content surface.Integrate and manage technical SEO elements such as canonical tags, clean URLs, semantic HTML, and crawlable site structures.Manage automations and integrations, including Zapier workflows, API scripts, and internal tools, to streamline processes for the team and clients.Maintain and troubleshoot existing client websites, ensuring ongoing functionality and performance improvements.Own the deployment process from staging to production, managing environments, DNS, Cloudflare, and site migrations to ensure smooth launches.Monitor and ensure Core Web Vitals compliance, achieving optimal scores for page performance and user experience.Document code thoroughly, facilitate team collaboration, and ensure that your work is easily understandable by others.Stay updated on web standards, accessibility, and SEO best practices, incorporating them into your development workflow.
