Stanowisko To Podlega Engineering Manager __ Your Role And Responsibilities For our competence center at ABB Traction in Poland, we are looking for a proactive and eager-to-learn Junior Control Software Engineer to strengthen our multi-disciplinary Engineering team. If you like working in a dynamic environment, developing traction application software for a wide range of vehicles such as trams, locomotives, trains, buses, maintenance vehicles, rack rail trains or mining trucks, mixing technical challenges and customer focus, this opportunity is for you! The work model for the role is: You Will Be Mainly Accountable For Develops the application layer of the control software for customer projects for traction converters using SW templates, from software requirements definition to the operational release running on the final system.Creates and updates software and documentation according to the defined standards and homologation needs.Tests and troubleshoots software in diverse environments such as real-time simulators and laboratories, and supports customers during commissioning and homologation on the vehicle. Willingness to travel between 20% and 30% of the time is required. Night shifts and weekend work may be needed during travel periods.Provides technical support to peers, other disciplines, and customers during project development, laboratory testing, homologation, initial operation, and service.Coordinates technical solutions with peers to maximize SW re-utilization, minimize the risk of bugs, and accelerate standardization. Qualifications For The Role University (Higher Education) degree in Control Systems, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or an equivalent field.Knowledge of SW development for closed-loop control, signal processing, algorithms, and real-time programming mechanisms.Experience with IEC 61131-3 programming languages (CODESYS), Matlab Simulink, and communication/field bus protocols (CAN, TRDP, J1939, MVB, ...) is considered an advantage.Knowledge of SW versioning tools (SVN, Git) is considered an advantage.Broad knowledge of converter control, power electronics, or automotive systems.Understanding of SW development process standards (such as EN 50657, EN 50128, or ISO 26262) is considered a plus.Ability to work effectively in close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, learn quickly, and embrace new challenges.Fluency in Polish and English; German is considered a plus.
