Description
A global FinTech organisation is hiring a Principal Software Engineer to bring senior technical expertise across multiple engineering teams, with C# and .NET at the core.
You’ll be part of a small, highly skilled central team, working across the wider engineering function to tackle complex problems, influence technical decisions and help teams deliver.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role.
You’ll shape architecture, write code and get involved where your experience adds the most value.
Your involvement could range from a quick intervention to several months embedded with a delivery team.
You’ll also take ownership of a handful of projects from the central team.
This is a chance to work across the technology estate, rather than being tied to a single product.
You’ll see different teams, architectures and challenges while remaining close to the code and having genuine technical influence.
What you'll do:
Shape architecture and technical direction across multiple teams.Get hands-on with complex C#/.NET development.Step into unfamiliar codebases and make an immediate impact.Decide when teams need short-term guidance or deeper technical support.Build strong relationships across engineering.Raise technical standards through your own work and leadership.Balance the right solution with simplicity, scalability and maintainability.
Technical experience:
C# / .NETAzure – App Services, Functions, Service Bus, Event Grid, Storage & BatchAzure SQL & Cosmos DBCI/CD, automated testing & observabilityCloud architecture and scalable application design
Nice to have:
Generative AI / LLM experience with Azure AI Foundry, OpenAI, Amazon Bedrock or Google Vertex.Agentic coding tools.
The team works on a hybrid model, normally meeting up in the Central London hub 2 days a week.
Your colleagues will also be on-site, so there is some meaning, collaboration and value.
It will be a 2 stage interview process, which has been designed to be as quick and pain free as possible.
