Senior Data Engineer

Senior Data Engineer | Databricks | £72,000 + Bonus Mostly Remote - Ideally South East of the Uk based, I'm working with a global organisation that is investing in its internal data capability and looking for a Senior Data Engineer to help design and build the data foundations supporting customer and commercial decision making across its European business. This is a genuinely hands on engineering opportunity. You'll work across a complex data environment, designing scalable solutions within Databricks and building pipelines that bring together data from multiple business systems. The role will suit someone who enjoys understanding a business problem, designing the technical solution and then getting hands on to build it. You'll be working with stakeholders across Data, Marketing, Revenue and Finance, helping create trusted and accessible datasets that can be used across the organisation. We're looking for strong experience across: • Azure Databricks • Spark and PySpark • Python • Advanced SQL • Delta Lake • Medallion architecture • Data modelling • Batch data pipelines • Data warehouse design • Performance and storage optimisation • Building Bronze, Silver and Gold data layers Experience with areas such as Unity Catalog, Azure Data Factory, streaming, APIs, Salesforce, customer data or marketing data would be particularly useful. The important part is that you've personally designed and built data solutions and can confidently explain the technical decisions behind them.
