Job Description We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team in Manchester, United Kingdom. In this role, you will play a key part in designing, developing, and optimising mechanical systems and components. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that meet customer requirements and drive continuous improvement across our product range. Design and develop mechanical components and systems using 3D CAD tools, ensuring precision and adherence to technical specificationsCreate comprehensive technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and assembly instructionsConduct mechanical analysis and simulations to validate designs and optimise performanceManage and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) structures, ensuring accuracy and traceability throughout the product lifecycleCollaborate with colleagues across engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to support product development and improvement initiativesAnalyse customer requirements and translate them into practical engineering solutionsParticipate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to enhance product quality and manufacturabilitySupport the preparation of technical proposals and documentation for customer presentationsEnsure compliance with relevant engineering standards, regulations, and best practices Contribute to problem-solving activities and identify opportunities for innovation and efficiency improvements Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or equivalent professional experienceProficiency in 3D CAD software (such as CATIA, SolidWorks, or similar tools)Demonstrated experience in creating and managing BOM structuresStrong technical documentation and drawing skillsSolid understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processesExcellent analytical and problem-solving abilitiesStrong people skills and ability to work effectively within collaborative teamsAttention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workDesirable Qualifications: Experience with mechanical simulation and finite element analysis (FEA) software Knowledge of relevant engineering standards and industry regulationsProject management experience or exposureExperience in the pneumatic, hydraulic, or actuator industries Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies Professional engineering qualification or chartership (CEng, IEng)
