About the Opportunity: The SOFTWARE ENGINEER (REPOSITORIES) role contributes to building and operating core customer-facing infrastructure, including package registries, APIs, and production services that securely serve software artifacts at scale. This infrastructure-heavy backend position is vital for supporting a unified repository experience across multiple artifact types, enhancing system reliability and customer accessibility. Responsibilities: Build and improve customer-facing registries, APIs, and artifact-serving systems.Implement projects and features from design through testing and rollout.Develop and operate backend services in Go.Enhance scalability, reliability, observability, and performance of production systems.Participate in design discussions and technical decision-making.Collaborate across teams to deliver cohesive repository experiences.Review code and contribute to a supportive engineering environment.Investigate and resolve production issues to improve operational understanding. Requirements: 2+ years of software development experience, including backend or infrastructure systems.Experience with Go or strong programming skills with ability to learn Go.Involvement in software projects through implementation, testing, and release.Interest in customer-facing infrastructure such as package registries or APIs.Knowledge of software engineering fundamentals like testing, code review, and debugging.Exposure or strong interest in service deployment and operation in production.Familiarity with cloud infrastructure or infrastructure-as-code tools is beneficial but not required.Systems-oriented mindset with curiosity and problem-solving skills.Clear communication and collaborative work style, suited to remote environments.
