About The Role We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer / Architect to join our dynamic team and provide senior technical leadership across our web and mobile engineering initiatives. This role is integral to shaping the technical direction of our projects, ensuring the development of scalable, reliable, and secure digital applications. As a hands-on leader, you will be responsible for defining architecture standards, driving engineering best practices, and mentoring engineering teams to achieve excellence. Your expertise will be crucial in designing and implementing complex solutions, modernizing existing platforms, and fostering a culture of innovation and quality. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software architecture, development, and technical problem-solving, with a passion for building impactful digital experiences. Qualifications Proven experience as a Software Architect or Principal Engineer with hands-on development expertise in Java and Node.js.Extensive experience in designing and developing high-volume web, mobile, and e-commerce applications.Strong understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices.Experience with serverless architectures, particularly Azure Functions / Function Apps, and event-driven systems.Proficiency in relational databases such as MariaDB or similar technologies.Deep knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, automated testing, and infrastructure automation.Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives, reduce technical debt, and modernize legacy systems.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.Relevant certifications in Azure, cloud architecture, or software design are preferred. Responsibilities Provide hands-on technical leadership for complex and high-impact software engineering projects, ensuring adherence to architectural standards and best practices.Define, evolve, and enforce application architecture, design patterns, and engineering standards to promote consistency and quality across teams.Design and develop scalable, secure, and high-performance web, mobile, and backend applications using Java and Node.js technologies.Lead the development of high-volume digital retail, e-commerce, and mobile applications that meet business and user needs.Architect and implement serverless and event-driven solutions utilizing Azure Functions / Function Apps to optimize performance and scalability.Develop and optimize database solutions using MariaDB and other relational database systems.Drive application modernization efforts, reduce technical debt, and implement platform engineering initiatives to improve system robustness and maintainability.Establish and refine CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, automated testing frameworks, and infrastructure automation to enhance developer productivity.Troubleshoot complex technical issues, provide architectural guidance, and ensure system reliability and security.Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, product management, security, and cloud specialists to deliver integrated and secure solutions.Promote engineering excellence by advocating for code quality, performance optimization, security best practices, and operational efficiency.
