Bachelor Thesis Student - Tracking Components Development

For the B. Braun New Ventures Team in Freiburg we are looking for a Bachelor Thesis Student (f/m/d) in Mechanical Engineering, Medical Engineering or Plastics Engineering. Duties And Responsibilities You gather and analyze user needs and requirements for the development of tracking components for surgical instrumentsYou develop and evaluate innovative concepts using design methodologies and creative problem-solving techniquesYou design tracking components and integration kits that enable the integration of surgical instruments into an optical tracking systemYou create CAD designs and support the selection of suitable materials and manufacturing processesYou build and evaluate prototypes using manufacturing technologies such as 3D printing, injection molding, or castingYou verify and optimize prototypes through testing and iterative developmentYou collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of engineers and product developers working on next-generation surgical technologiesYou document your results and present recommendations for future product development Professional competencies Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Medical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Product Development, or a related fieldKnowledge of engineering design methodologies and product development processesExperience with CAD design toolsInterest in plastic part design, material selection, and manufacturing technologiesHands-on experience with prototyping methods such as 3D printing, casting, or injection molding is a plusStructured and analytical approach to solving technical challenges Personal competencies You are self-motivated and eager to learn in a highly innovative environmentYou enjoy transforming ideas into practical engineering solutionsYou have a hands-on mentality and enjoy building and testing prototypesYou work independently while also being a strong team playerYou communicate professionally in English.
