Job Title: Senior Software Engineer – CI/CD Automation & Production Reliability Location: United Kingdom - Remote/Hybrid Contract Duration: 6 month (Looking to start ASAP) Remuneration: £54.81 Per Hour Software Engineering | DevOps | Platform Engineering Our Client are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to help build and maintain the automation that keeps a large-scale consumer application running reliably in production across multiple platforms. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on operational excellence, automation, CI/CD health, cloud infrastructure, and production reliability. You'll work closely with platform, runtime, and operations teams to reduce manual operational effort, improve deployment reliability, and ensure development pipelines remain robust as systems evolve. Key Responsibilities Build and maintain automation that improves the health, reliability, and scalability of production systems.Develop and enhance tooling for build validation, release management, deployment orchestration, and incident detection.Maintain and improve AI-assisted engineering tools designed to identify, repair, and submit code fixes automatically.Create solutions that detect build failures, identify root causes, and recommend or execute remediation actions.Monitor production systems, quality metrics, and service performance, proactively addressing regressions and outages.Drive automation initiatives that significantly reduce manual operational and on-call workload.Support infrastructure and dependency migrations to ensure CI/CD pipelines remain stable and functional.Collaborate with engineering teams to improve reliability, deployment efficiency, and developer productivity. Required Experience Professional software engineering experience.Extensive experience building, maintaining, and operating CI/CD, build, release, and deployment pipelines at scale.Strong background in cloud infrastructure, production services, and large-scale distributed systems.Experience developing or supporting AI-powered developer tools, code generation systems, or automated code-repair solutions.Proven track record of building tooling that identifies, diagnoses, and resolves software build failures.Hands-on experience with production monitoring, incident management, troubleshooting, and service reliability.Demonstrated success reducing operational overhead through automation and engineering improvements.Experience managing infrastructure upgrades, dependency changes, and platform migrations with minimal disruption. Preferred Experience Cloud streaming, remote rendering, or high-performance application delivery environments.Large-scale content delivery or CDN infrastructure.Performance monitoring focused on latency, capacity planning, and workload orchestration.Live-service or always-on production environments.Large monorepo architectures and complex dependency management.Self-healing systems, automated remediation, and reliability engineering practices.
