Data Engineer

Job Description Join Sage's Routes to Revenue team and help build the data foundations that will power Sage's In-Life customer growth strategy. You will take hands-on ownership of data pipelines, analytical products, and automation workflows that turn fragmented data into meaningful commercial outcomes. What You'll Be Doing Build and maintain data pipelines that consolidate information from multiple internal and external sources Support the management and optimisation of the team's Snowflake environment, contributing to data quality, governance, and scalability Develop reusable datasets and data products that support customer migration, retention, and expansion initiatives Automate manual data workflows to reduce operational effort and improve speed to insight Contribute to customer segmentation models and scoring engines that help teams prioritise high-impact opportunities Assist in developing AI-enabled tools using AWS Bedrock and related services to enrich data and support decision-making Work alongside commercial analysts and stakeholders to translate business challenges into scalable technical solutions Key Responsibilities What We're Looking for You have practical experience in data engineering or, gained through work, internships, or projects, and are looking to take the next step Solid SQL skills and experience working with large-scale datasets Familiarity with cloud platforms, with some exposure to AWS services Experience designing or contributing to data pipelines or analytical workflows Ability to communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders and translate requirements into practical solutions A problem-solving mindset with a focus on delivering outcomes that matter to the business Bonus points if you bring: Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouse platforms Python development skills, particularly for data-driven applications Exposure to customer segmentation, propensity modelling, or predictive analytics Familiarity with SaaS, subscription, or recurring revenue business models Experience with Power BI or other data visualisation tools Understanding of data governance and quality management practices Your benefits (Only Applicable for UK Based Roles) Benefits video – https://youtu.be/TCMtTYUUiuU Generous bonuses and pension scheme: Up to 8% matched pension contribution plus 2% top-up by Sage. 25 days of paid annual leave with the option to buy up to another 5 days Paid 5 days yearly to volunteer through our Sage Foundation Enhanced parental leave Work away scheme for up to 10 weeks a year Access to various helpful memberships for finances, health and wellbeing
