Role Description The Senior Structural Engineer will provide technical leadership on a range of structural and civil engineering projects, ensuring designs are safe, efficient, and compliant with relevant standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing structural analysis and calculations, developing and reviewing structural designs, and producing detailed drawings and documentation using CAD and other design tools. The role involves coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders, reviewing junior engineers’ work, and contributing to project planning, cost estimates, and quality assurance. The engineer will also support site inspections, assessments, and technical reports, helping to resolve design and construction issues in a timely manner. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Nottingham. Qualifications Strong proficiency in Structural Engineering, with experience leading design on building or infrastructure projects.Advanced skills in Structural Analysis and structural design calculations to assess safety, performance, and compliance.Competence in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for producing and reviewing drawings and models.Relevant engineering degree (e.g., BEng/MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering) and professional registration or progress toward chartership (e.g., ICE or IStructE).Experience managing projects, mentoring junior team members, and collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams and clients.Solid understanding of UK building codes, standards, and construction practices, with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare technical reports and present design solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
