Client: BAE Systems
Job Title: Lead Kubernetes Engineer
Location: Frimley
Contract length: 12 months
Days on site: 2/3 days on-site per week
Rate: £50 PAYE or £67.47 Umbrella
Key Responsibilities:
End to end architecture for CI workloads running on KubernetesWorkload isolation, networking, and artifact flow designImage build, scanning, and promotion architectureRegistry design and environment separation modelLogging, metrics and monitoring for CI workloadsPlatform level visibility and alertingIdentification of candidate workloadPhased adoption plan
Skills & Qualifications:
Ability to operate at engineering leadership / architecture levelStrong experience designing Kubernetes platforms, not just operating themProven experience integrating Kubernetes with CI/CD systemsExperience with multi-team platform design and governance
Desirable Skills
Experience with GitOps (e.g., ArgoCD, Flux)Experience with cloud-native build tooling (e.g., BuildKit, Kaniko)Familiarity with enterprise-scale engineering environments
