Platform Engineer – Graduate Considered A fantastic opportunity for a graduate or experienced Platform Engineer to join a highly successful technology company working on complex, large-scale software systems. You will join a specialist platform team responsible for the infrastructure, tooling and automation that enables engineering teams to develop, deploy and operate software effectively. This is a hands-on role with Kubernetes at its core, offering the opportunity to work across container orchestration, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, observability and cloud-native technologies. Location: London, 2 days per week in the office Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 per annum + benefits Requirements for Platform Engineer – Graduate Considered: Experienced candidates looking towards the upper end of the salary range should demonstrate the majority of the following. However, we are also very keen to hear from exceptional graduates with a demonstrable interest in pursuing a career in Platform Engineering. Those applying at graduate level should have a strong academic background, including a 2:1 or 1st class degree and at least AAB at A Level. You will have commercial experience working with Kubernetes, however, graduates with a good grasp are consideredYou will have experience operating, troubleshooting and scaling Kubernetes clusters within production environmentsGood understanding of Kubernetes networking, storage, RBAC and workload schedulingExperience with Infrastructure as Code and provisioning tools such as Terraform or CloudFormationExperience with CI/CD technologies such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or JenkinsGood understanding of networking and security principlesExperience working with source control systemsStrong troubleshooting skills with the ability to investigate logs, identify patterns and resolve complex platform issuesExcellent communication and collaboration skillsExperience with scripting or programming languages such as Python, Bash or Go would be beneficialExperience with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, GitOps or service mesh technologies would also be advantageous Responsibilities for Platform Engineer – Graduate Considered: Operate, maintain and evolve Kubernetes platforms across multiple environmentsEnsure applications can be deployed reliably and efficiently at scaleWork closely with software engineering teams to understand infrastructure requirements and encourage scalable, cloud-native development practicesImprove the reliability, observability and performance of Kubernetes clustersBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support efficient software deliveryDevelop and improve Infrastructure as Code using technologies such as Terraform or CloudFormationAutomate operational processes and identify opportunities to improve the developer experienceSupport engineering teams with the effective use of cloud infrastructureHelp transition new applications and services into productionEmbed security best practices into platform architecture and infrastructureMonitor platform components and ensure services meet performance and reliability requirementsEvaluate relevant cloud-native technologies and introduce practical improvements to the platform What the role offers: The opportunity to work extensively with Kubernetes and modern cloud-native technologiesWork on complex infrastructure supporting sophisticated, large-scale software productsA varied platform role spanning Kubernetes, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, observability, automation and security Applications: If you would like to apply for this unique Platform Engineering role, then please send your CV via the relevant links!
